THE APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESSThe Facade Improvement program is a competitive program focused on achieving the greatest impact for monies spent, based on a limited amount of funding. It is anticipated that approximately 6-10 properties will be able to receive funding assistance each year. Following is an outline of the process that property and business owners should follow if interested in being considered for the matching grant program:
- Complete the application and the requirements that it identifies and submit to the HVMS office for improvements to be completed for that year.
- The Design Committee will review all of the applications in accordance to the evaluation criteria and respond back to the applicants in a Timely manner. The repsonse may be approval of the submission, request for additional clarification or modification to the submission, or denial. Applicants may be given the opportunity to provide additional clarification or modifications to their plans, based on comments by the Design Committee. Applicants are encouraged, however, to ask questions and get feedback from the Design Committee or HVMS Director prior to the application deadline to help minimize delays.
- In the event that additional funding is made available after the submission deadline, additional applications will be evaluated in the order they are received.
- An applicant may submit separate applications for multiple properties in the same year.
- An applicant may reapply from year to year.
